One Agency Ritchie Property Group complies with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)(“Privacy Act”) as amended by the Privacy Amendment (Enhancing Privacy Protection) Act 2012 (Cth) (“Amendment Act”) and has adopted a set of principles in its policy which is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles as amended in March 2014 (APPS) and the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (PIPP Act)

What is personal information

When used in this privacy policy, the term “personal information” means any opinion or information that identifies or can be used to personally identify you. This may include your name, address, telephone number, email address. If the information we collect personally identifies you, or you are reasonably identifiable from it, the information will be considered personal information.

Collecting personal information

One Agency Ritchie Property Group may collect the following types of personal information. By providing your personal information you grant staff at One Agency Ritchie Property Group permission to use and store that information for the purpose of providing you our services now and/or in the future. Any personal information received will be treated in accordance with our Privacy Policy and standards set out in the PIPP Act.

• details of the services you have acquired from us or which you have enquired about, together with any additional information necessary to deliver those services and to respond to your enquiries;

• information you provide to us during telephone calls, in-person visits or in emails to our representatives from time to time; and

• required by applicable laws, regulations or codes of conduct to verify your identity before we can provide our services to you. This may involve conducting a 100-point identity check, sighting a form of photographic identity such as drivers licence number or passport number and/or confirming your ownership of the property that you wish us to sell on your behalf.

How do we collect your personal information?

We collect your personal information directly from you or from someone you authorise to act on your behalf. When collecting personal information from you, we may collect in ways including:

• when you make an enquiry about our services;

• when you send an enquiry through our website or online platform such as social media, realestate.com.au, Domain etc;

• during conversations between you and our representatives;

• when you ask to be placed on one of our mailing lists;

• when you apply for a rental property or job with us;

• when attending one of our open homes

• when you become a client of ours or a creditor or debtor of ours. 


Your personal information will not be shared, sold, rented or disclosed other than as described in this privacy policy.

Security

Any online platform such as Facebook, Instagram our website,  is linked to the internet, and the internet is inherently insecure, we cannot provide any assurance regarding the security of transmission of information you communicate to us online. We also cannot guarantee that the information you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted over the internet. Accordingly, any personal information or other information which you transmit to us online is transmitted at your own risk.

Who do we disclose your information to?

We may disclose your personal information to:

• our employees, contractors, conveyancers/solicitors for the purpose, fulfilling requests by you. 

Direct marketing materials

We may send you direct marketing communications and information about our services that we consider may be of interest to you. These communications may be sent in various forms, including mail, SMS and email, in accordance with applicable marketing laws, such as the Australian Spam Act 2003 (Cth). If you indicate a preference for a method of communication, we will endeavour to use that method whenever practical to do so. In addition, at any time you may opt-out of receiving marketing communications from us by contacting us or by using opt-out facilities provided in the marketing communications and we will then ensure that your name is removed from our mailing list.

We do not provide your personal information to other organisations for the purposes of direct marketing.

Security and data quality

We take reasonable steps to ensure your personal information is protected from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

We may hold your information in either electronic or hard copy form. Personal information held in electronic form is protected by Multi-Factor Authentication and Personal information held in hard copy is stored at our premises under security measures from unauthorised use.

Personal information is destroyed when no longer needed or when we are no longer required by law to retain it (whichever is the later).

What is the process for complaining about a breach of privacy?

Changes to our privacy policy

We may change this privacy policy from time to time.  Any updated versions of this privacy policy will be posted on our website and will be effective from the date of posting. This privacy policy was last updated on 1st July, 2024.
